Kiss and That
Please join me in welcoming Blue as my official Photo of the Day guest artist for the next couple of weeks! I'm excited by what she sent me to post. I'm also excited to have a different visual perspective in my space. Hope you enjoy them, too.So, I'm still trying to catch up from this weekend's blogging flame out. It's existentially painful to go weeks without having anything to write about and then, just when I have something to say, not be able to log into my blog. If a tree fell in the forest and it fell on a bear shitting in the woods, then did that tree fall and, if so, will the bear have ongoing potty issues ever after? I'm far afield. I know.
I had wanted to post a link to this article on kissing for Valentine's Day. The article is a laundry list of everything you may not have wanted to think about when it comes to kissing, both good and yucky. For instance:
- By some estimates, between 10 million and 1 billion colonies of bacteria are exchanged with each open-mouthed, tongue-friendly kiss.
- Most humans have a strong preference for slanting their heads to the right while kissing.
- During a kiss, the heart can sometimes beat twice as fast as normal.
- A passionate kiss burns 6.4 calories a minute. Not bad.
Of course, you may be in need of a better workout than kissing can provide. I bet you already know the next step. Yes, sex is good for your health. But you may not have known that women who have sex during their periods are 1.5 times less likely to develop endometriosis than women who didn't have sex. (Whoever said "Eww!" should get the hell out of my blog. Go. Right now. We're waiting.) The theory is that "contractions of the uterus that occur during sex, and specifically orgasm, may help push the menstrual debris out of the uterus" and that debris is something that increases risk. Read the article for lots more reasons to have sex more than twice a week, every week.
Comments:
i must say, i know first-hand wat sex during your period can do for you. after a 7 year relationship, it became painfully obvious to both my partner and myself that a lack of sexual activity during that time made me much more irritable than usual, and keeping it up virtually obliterated my mood swings. (hormonal balancing perhaps?)
also, the more orgasms i had, the quicker i was done.. and since i think (not officially diagnosed yet) that i have PCOS, and my periods are extremely heavy, the discovery of this was absolutely a god-send (pick your god. i don’t care which)
all in all, i must give sex during the red mist time two thumbs up.. plus the fact that one of my partners thought it was really sexy to do something so “dirty”, so it really turned him on BIGtime… *smiles* keep it up! i love your blog!!

That’s interesting! I bet that’s probably true for other women as well. Any other thoughts on sex versus a woman’s cycle? Does sex in the few days before your period help with any:00 PMS symptoms? Is sex the week after your period is over the best? Just curious. Thanks for commenting, MR!

Sex during my period is not OK with my guy (dang!) - he would have to leave your blog… but pleasuring myself during that time has been something I have done for years! The orgasms seem so much stronger and longer! However, the time I am the horniest is right before the menses commence. Sex during the few days prior is usually amazing (and very very necessary).
